Today we worked with Miss Paton to help us to learn and practise how to use google sheets to share statistical information.

We had one bag of lolly disguises and plotted what we found in our bag.

Lolly Disguises

Today a small group of students worked with Miss Paton to gather a set of statistical information in order to "practise" plotting and graphing information as we find it.

We had a bag of "Lolly Disguises". Students in their groups plotted what they had found in their bag. Matthew has shown his work using a pie and bar graph.

Matthew's findings -:

The tolf moustache has 5 of its type.

The Bushy mo has only 1 of its type like the hollywood
smile

The classic mo has 3 of its kind.

The Vampy teeth and country buck and kiss me quick lips
are the same .

The double buck is the same as the juicy lips.

Welcome, Welcome, School has begun,
Time for work, Time for fun.
As each day I learn with care,
I use our new motto: Learn, Create ,Share.

Everyday is a new adventure,
You don’t know what you’ll find.
Use your imagination,
Use your mind!

Term Two Gymnastics Lessons 2015

The Year 7 and 8 students had an awesome time at their first gymnastics session. We were a little rusty but once we got into it we were fantastic.

We worked in small groups, threes and sometimes we were able to be active on our own. We are all looking forward to another lesson next Thursday.
Maiana was so excited to be flying through the air.
Laki, Benjamin and Lelei worked as a three to make their first tier. They were very giggly sometimes..............

We will get better and better!

What does Learn, Create, Share mean to me?

Learn, Create, Share

The more I search, the more I find,
The more I find, the more I read,
The more I read, the more I think,
The more I think, the more I learn,
The more I learn, the more I do,
The more I do, the more I create,
The more I create, the more I share,
The more I share, the more I connect,
The more I connect, the more I learn,
The more I learn, the more I know and the more intelligent that I grow!

Headdress of Papua New Guinea

Amua Whare Cultural Study:

Amua Whare adopted a country of study. The country we chose was Papua New Guinea. We investigated the traditional headdress and the celebrations and festivals that are held in Papua New Guinea.

When does your birthday come?

A group of students were able to work with Miss Paton to learn how to use google sheets to create a graph of the Year 7 and 8 students birthdays.

Jimi was the first one to learn, create and is now sharing!

Only one birthday was celebrated in March, May, July and September.
All of the months had the same amount of birthdays celebrated in them.
The most celebrated birthdays were January, August, October and November.

Manawaroa Whare and Amua Whare Share their Read and Feed Time.

The Year 2 students in Manawaroa Whare came over to visit the Amua Hub this afternoon during Read and Feed time. While we sipped our milk and ate our juicy apples we shared.

Together we shared what we have been learning about what good readers do. Some of the little ones read to the seniors and the seniors read their stories too.

Each Thursday afternoon for 15 minutes the two Whanau groups will come together to share how they have progressed.

We are looking forward to another visit next week.

Round Two of Learn, Create, Share

The second group of students in Year 8 have completed their symbols to represent Learn, Create, Share. Some have used vivid and dye while others have attempted to use paint.

It is important that we all develop a clear understanding of Learn, Create and Share because each of these key words will support us further as we progress through into our digital platforms.
